A wood shredder is a type of hammer mill, primarily utilizing the principle of blade cutting and airflow impact to shred materials. This equipment mainly consists of five parts: shredding, grading, pneumatic conveying, unloading, and dust removal. It eliminates the traditional screening process, using wind power to shred materials in a single operation. The machine's performance is significantly improved compared to other similar products.

Key parameters include shredding capacity, output particle size, feed particle size, and power. Shredding capacity is usually expressed as the weight of material processed per hour (kg/h), commonly ranging from several hundred to several thousand kilograms. Output particle size refers to the size of the shredded material, generally between 5-30 mm, depending on the blade design and rotation speed. Feed particle size refers to the maximum diameter of branches the machine can process, typically between 10-20 cm.
